It's been a busy summer at KWP with several new projects in the works. Singer/songwriter Beth Cayhall recently signed with KWP for a 6 six song project. Beth has been writing with Kent, Lonnie Wilson, Dave Robbins and Tami Hinesh.

A recent project was completed on The McGoff family, an exciting young pop rock family group from the D.C. area.

Singer/songwriter Katie Elfman from upstate New York, New England native Michael Fabrizio, Sam Boruff of Washington, South African pop artist Myrka Snellenburg, and South Carolina's Kelly Jo Ramirez have all been working in the studio and we are very excited to hear their finished projects. Lots of new and very talented artists!

WWE Diva Mickie James "Strangers and Angels"

In December 2009, WWE Diva Mickie James signed an exclusive personal recording contract with Kent Wells Productions and began the process of choosing material for her debut album. Mickie, a five time world champion of professional wrestling, has been writing poetry, short stories, and songs for most of her life and was offered a scholarship to a prestigious literary arts college after high school. Completion of Mickie's album, titled Strangers and Angels, and recorded at the Sound Kitchen, wrapped in early 2010 and is set to release March 23. You can currently hear her first single, Are You With Me, on radio and on her web-site, mickiejames.com.

Mickie recently made her Nashville debut February 22 at the Dustin J. Wells Gift of Music concert held at the Wildhorse Saloon.
Preforming her single, Are You With Me, Mickie was a true crowd pleaser and is sure to have many fans anxiously awaiting the release of her album.
Big thanks and love to all involved in the Dustin J. Wells Gift of Music Benefit Concert. Once again the show was a big hit and raised approximately $55,000 for the Dustin Wells Foundation!
We were all thrilled to see so many great performances by several KWP artists. A BIG shout out to Mickie James who made her Nashville debut! Awesome!!

Dustin J. Wells Gift of Music

For the third year in a row, the Dustin J. Wells Foundation has organized the Gift of Music Benefit Concert with the goal of making financial contributions on behalf of Dustin Wells. The foundation was established for Dustin, who was killed in a car accident in 2005, as a tribute to him and his love of music. The foundation was set up by Dustin's family, friends and other loved ones and partnered with Nashville's music community to hold what is now known as the Dustin J. Wells Gift of Music Benefit Concert. Dustin is the son of Kent's brother, Dr. Dennis J. Wells, prominent cosmetic dentist located in Brentwood, Tennessee.

Since it began in 2008, the foundation has enjoyed the support of some of the industry's biggest artists including Dolly Parton, Ronnie Dunn, Dierks Bentley, and Kellie Pickler, among others. Thus far, the previous two shows have raised a combined total of $100,000 for the W.O. Smith School of Music, which has been the main beneficiary of the show's proceeds. The W.O. Smith School of Music is a well-loved facility that has strived to provide music lessons to Nashville's underprivileged children for almost a quarter of a century.

For this year, the foundation is set to hold another event, dubbed the 3rd Annual Gift of Music Benefit Concert, at the Wildhorse Saloon, located in the heart of downtown Nashville. This year's list of performers include Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town, Kellie Pickler, Jason Michael Carroll, Walker Hays and Keith Anderson. Also joining the line up are many of KWP's artists, Eric Lee Beddingfield, Drew Holland, Marion Grace, McKenzie's Mill, Jett Mason, Corey Wagar, and WWE Raw Diva
Mickie James. Singer and songwriter Marcia Ramirez will also preform. The show sold out in 20 minutes proving that when you combine great country music and a great cause, fans will line up to show their support!

As in previous years, Kent will serve as musical director for the event, leading an incredibly talented band. The band includes Kent Wells, Jimmy Mattingly, Paul Hollowell, Michael Davis, Steve Turner, Steve Mackey, Derek Wells, and background vocalists Richard Dennison, Jennifer O'Neil and Vickie Hampton.

If you would like to contribute to the Dustin J. Wells Foundation you can send your donations by mail to : Dr. Dennis J. Wells, D.D.S., 105 Powell Court, Suite 101, Brentwood, TN 37027.

On a personal note, we love and miss our D.J. everyday.............

This has been an exciting week at KWP! Recording artist, James Horn, his wife, Linda, and his attorney, Jack Whitaker stopped by for a pre-production meeting with Kent and Christine to discuss his upcoming project. James is writing and singing better than ever and we can hardly wait to hear the finished project.

Also this week, the legendary George Jones came in to sing on KWP's artist Eric Lee Beddingfield's latest recording "The Gospel According to Jones". Written by Eric, Randy Barber and Adam Fears, this song is a tribute to George Jones and many of his biggest hits. It was Eric's dream to have George on this song and after hearing Eric's cut, George graciously agreed. It is sure to be a country classic! George was kind enough to stay after the session for a meet and greet with Eric's wife, Jessica, and sweet baby boy, Eric Lee, who got an autograph on his guitar. George also took pictures with Eric's co-writers, Randy and Adam, Kent, Christine, Kyle, Kent's mom, Coylene, his sister, Teresa Ashcraft, and wife, Donna. Eric's bandmembers were also there and got a photo with George. We were all quite starstruck! Our thanks and appreciation to George and Nancy Jones.
